Loving the Bad Man
Loving the Bad Man is a compelling uplifting story about faith, love and redemption. This feature-length movie explores how God’s presence can touch each of us, and shows His glorious power even in the face of racism and such heinous acts as rape and murder. This film reveals the endurance of the human condition, and how we are all part of God’s great universe no matter how good or bad we are. This story focuses primarily on Julie Thompson (Christine Kelly), a young conservative Christian woman, who is truly tested by God after deciding to give birth to a child conceived in rape. The very personal choice leads her on a journey that forces her to explore and redefine her relationships with God, her family, friends and even her rapist Mike Connor (Fernandez), who currently resides in prison. In order to move forward with her life, Julie, who is still struggling to forgive the man who violated her, boldly goes to the prison and forges an unlikely bond with him.
Loving the Bad Man has received numerous awards including Golden Palm Award (Mexico International Christian Film Festival 2011); Honorable Mention (San Diego Christian Film Festival 2010); Finalist (Transforming Stories International Christian Film Festival 2010) & Official Selection (Sarasota Film Festival 2010).
The film’s soundtrack features the melodic rhythms and the penetrating lyrics of today’s very top Christian bands and performers: The Red Letters Project, The Almost and Everfound. Loving the Bad Man, was principally shot in Florida in various locations in North Miami and Fort Lauderdale, USA.
